NYSEG to Host Smart Meter Open House in West Seneca Thursday
Event will inform customers about the benefits of smart meters
Part of NYSEG’s work to bring smart meters to all customers; reduce estimated billing
LANCASTER, NY — September 24, 2024 — New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) customers in the Lancaster division, which includes portions of Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, and Wyoming counties, continue having their meters upgraded to smart meters. The Company will host an informational open house on Thursday, September 26 to provide residents, business owners, and municipal officials with information about the ongoing installations, timeline, and customer benefits.
There is no formal presentation. Customers are invited to come at any time during the event and talk to project representatives about smart meter installations.

Registration for the smart meter open house is not required and all are welcome to attend.
All residential and most business customers in NYSEG’s service areas will receive the new electric smart meter. Informational displays and NYSEG representatives will be available to share more details about the installation process, answer questions and demonstrate how smart meters will provide customers with more convenience, control, and expanding choice in understanding and managing their energy use.
NYSEG expects to complete smart meter installations in early 2025 for this area. Customers will receive information about their installation before they begin in their neighborhood.
