Rebates for High Efficiency Natural Gas Equipment
NYSEG is offering residential natural gas customers rebates for installing qualifying
natural gas equipment and related control equipment on or after July 1, 2009.
The rebates are funded through the Public Service Commission-mandated System
Benefits Charge that appears on customer bills.

The Following Rebates Are Being Offered to Customers Who Meet Program Requirements: 
High-efficiency natural gas furnace AFUE 90% or greater.............................$200
High-efficiency natural gas furnace AFUE 92% or greater with ECM ..........$400
High-efficiency natural gas furnace AFUE 94% or greater with ECM ..........$600

AFUE = Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency | ECM = Electronically Controlled Motor
 
 * Separate piece of equipment installed by a contractor on a new or existing 
     non-condensing boiler.
**  Installed by a contractor at time of qualifying furnace or boiler replacement, an indirect
     water heater uses heat from the main boiler to produce hot water.
*** Completed in unconditioned areas only by a contractor at time of qualifying 
     furnace replacement.


To be eligible, furnaces and boilers must be Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) or Energy STAR® approved. To determine if yourequipment qualifies, view the

Duct Sealing Rebate Information
NYSEG/RG&E residential natural gas customers can receive a rebate on duct sealing when they buy and install a qualifying high-efficiency natural gas furnace. The work must be completed on or after July 1, 2009 by a qualified contractor* and must be done at the same time as a qualifying furnace replacement. The duct sealing rebate applies only to ductwork located in unconditioned spaces such as garages, crawl spaces or attics.
