Brewster, NY, January 26, 2010 (5:30 a.m.) – NYSEG is completing the restoration of power to customers who were affected by the strong winds and torrential rains that swept through the area yesterday.  Less than 80 NYSEG customers in the division are currently without electricity service; down from the more than 8,000 NYSEG customers in southern Dutchess, Putnam and northern Westchester counties who lost power due to the storms. Most of the customer who remain without power are located in the Town of Lewisboro. Restoration efforts are ongoing and total restoration is expected by this afternoon.

Customers are reminded that downed power lines are dangerous. Even lines that appear “dead” may be deadly. Downed wires and other hazardous situations should be immediately reported to NYSEG at 1.800.572.1131.
